PUBLIC HEARINGS TO CONSIDER RECLASSIFICATION OF TOWN HIGHWAYS (TH)
The Selectboard will hold public hearings to consider the reclassification of 0.06 miles of TH #9; 0.33 miles of TH #15 (Stagecoach Road); and 0.75 miles of TH #26 (Trapp Road). Site examinations will be held on Saturday, May 11 beginning at 8:30 am. Public Hearings will be held at 6:30 pm on Monday, May 13 (TH #9); on Tuesday, May 14 (TH #15); and on Thursday, May 16 (TH #26). Please click here for the full public notice.

Preservation Trust of Vermont Report dated March 26, 2006 on the Old Fire House, built in 1841. This building was discussed at Town Meeting on March 5, as Article 8. Click here to view the report.
All dogs must be registered by April 1 (state statute) with the Town Clerk. Current rabies certificate must be on file. The fees are now (as of April 2): $28 or $19/ spayed/neutered. Please note that $5 of each registration fee goes to the State of Vermont for domestic animal programs.
The lucky winners of the 2019 January Lucky Dip are License #1 (Heidi Racht – Annie, the sweet white dog mix) and License #3 (Kathleen & Dave Clark – JD, the old – 16! -red dog); January/February Lucky Dip is License #58 (Jim and Patty Baumann – golden Banks) and Town Meeting Luck Dip License #215 (Michael Pendriss – black Chaos). Free 2020 licenses for them!
COMMUNITY SURVEY: For people ages 50 & over
HERO (Elderly Resources) invites you to participate in a survey for those who wish to age in their homes. The survey asks about the kinds of needs, priorities & interests you think you may have and your possible interest in a membership-type organization that provides volunteer, discounted or paid services. You can download the survey here or pick up a copy at the Town Office of Huntington Public Library. Completed surveys can be emailed to email@example.com or dropped off at the Town Office before May 31, 2019.
The green reflective signs with your 9-1-1 address are available at the Huntington Town Clerk’s Office. The cost is $10 and they are made to order. The proceeds from the sale of these signs go directly to Huntington First Response/Fire Department.
You must get a permit from Huntington’s Fire Warden before having an outdoor fire, including burning brush or backyard campfires. Permits are issued over the phone by calling Ken @ 434-2389 or page him at 350-7818 and leave a call-back number. For more information click here.

EMERGENCY RESOURCES DURING POWER OUTAGES
Our emergency shelter at the Church in Huntington Center is available if you need access to clean water, showers, heat, cooking facilities, etc. If the church is locked & the lights are off, call Barbara at 434-5754 or page 350-6710 and we will be happy to meet you there!
CHECK OUT THE HUNTINGTON PUBLIC LIBRARY
Huntington Public Library is open on Sundays, noon to 5 pm, as well as four other days. In addition to a wide selection of books of all genres, the Library has wifi access and public computer terminals. Huntington participates in the Home Card program, which enables Huntington and Buels Gore residents to borrow books from participating local libraries (sorry, not Fletcher Free in Burlington). Cardholders can access a variety of online educational resources and also request books through interlibrary loan. It is located in the Union Meeting House in the Lower Village. Pre-Kindergarten Opportunities for Local Families
PreK opportunities are available to residents of Bolton, Huntington, Jericho, Richmond and Underhill. Under the Universal Pre-K bill (Act 166) all 3, 4, and 5-year-olds (not yet eligible for kindergarten) may receive 10 hours per week of publicly-funded Pre-K for 35 weeks. This education can be in any pre-qualified Center or Home-based program with a tuition of $3356 paid to the provider by the school district. If a child attends a public school-based Pre-K, the program is free of charge.
FAMILIES NEW TO PRE-K or the DISTRICT: Complete the online enrollment form (by February 12, 2019) at: https://ecollect.accelaschool.com/cesu with a school enroll code of 802. Immediately following the submission of this form, you will receive an email from firstname.lastname@example.org with instructions on how to proceed with the registration process. If you do not receive this information, please notify email@example.com
CURRENT PRE-K FAMILIES in public-school based programs or a private programs: Go to the PowerSchool Parent Portal and fill out the enrollment form at: https://cesu.powerschool.com/public . Once logged in click on the “Quick Links” – “Powerteacher Portal Home” – then click on eCollect forms February 12th, 2019. BREWSTER-PIERCE SCHOOL IS COLLECTING BOXTOPS FOR EDUCATION – When you purchase certain cereals, soup or other products at the local store, check the label. If there is a small emblem on the box top or on the side of the can, cut it out to give to the Partners in Education at Brewster-Pierce School.
